SHOW NOTES:

  • Several years ago, I found myself at a point of my life where I weight 327 pounds.
And I remember the exact moment when I hit that rock bottom.
  • I was standing in a grocery store holding my credit card, 327 pounds, I was in my late 20’s, had health problems already, feeling depressed, not happy with my relationships and career.
  • And at that moment I remembered thinking, if the things will change, things will get better. Let’s get better. Let’s start taking actions.
  • So, I started going to work, I started eating healthier, I started exercising.
  • I was lifting weights and workout.
  • So, I started doing cardio, eating clean, and I lost a hundred pounds.
  • In that journey, as anybody would do, you’ll learn a lot. Gain a lot of experience. About nutrition and fitness.
  • I’ve been doing a lot of personal training and things like that. And I want to take things to the next level and really impact my hometown and teach my hometown what I have learned and what impacted me in such a huge and positive way.
  • So I opened up my own fitness facilities and start doing a boot camp program. Which was the main goal of the boot camp was to teach people the basics and nutrition and fitness.
  • So we opened up the facility, we started running the boot camp.
  • Over the first five years of boot camp, my hometown lot 35 thousand pounds
  • And it felt so good to impact my community – my home.
  • Instead of franchising, I said, “let’s step up the game.”
  • I lost a 100 pounds myself my hometown lost 35 thousand pounds.
  • We’re going to do a million pound mission.
  • They said, “you’re crazy man. How are you going to produce a million pounds?”
  • I said, “Well, we got to go outside of town. And I’m not going to franchise; I’m going to start a podcast.
  • So that’s where the million pounds podcast come.
  • I wanted to get on somebody’s podcast and this person has only medical professionals as his guests.
  • So I just listed PhD behind my name
  • So we did like a prep interview and we really hit it off.
  • And I was like, “listen, I got to come clean. PhD stand for Previously heavy Dude.”
  • So I just started calling myself the PhD after that and it stuck with the podcast and people refer to that online.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BOOTCAMP

  • That’s what I kind of specialize in, that’s what I called the danger zone.
  • I know you specialize in Keto that’s why I brought you on my show.
  • I need to expose my people to somebody that is an expert in this field, like Tracee.
  • So I tried knowing people like you and learning different tools and for each job, a different tool may be needed.
  • So I tried to look at people where they are struggling and where they are succeeding and I say, what nutrition plan might fit the best for their situation. What exercise regimen might be best for this situation and it changes all the time.
  • I’m on full ketosis right now and I feel good because that’s what fits my goal that I personally have right now.
  • If I needed to be on a more moderate carb plan, that’s when I do more paleo based plan, but it’s all about the goal.
And I coach all types of people. I like to help people.
  • The problem isn’t what modality you use; it’s fixing the whole.
  • It doesn’t matter whether you’re doing Keto or Paleo or weight watchers or cross fits or whatever.
  • If you always have a vacation and lose it for 6 months, that’s the whole of the road that we have to fix.
  • I’ve been experimenting Keto for over a year.
  • 3 weeks ago, I had a client has been struggling with seizures and not responding to medicines.
This is somebody that I love dearly.
  • So, I’ve been full bore since that moment – I’m full go.
  • My clients motivate me. It’s all about helping them especially in a life-changing situation like this client.
  • First 3 days were a little rough. I’m already really low in sugar.
Not too long ago I went a thousand days of really low sugar.
  • The real interesting thing has been my body has adapted where I’m not eating as many of calories.
  • My metabolism has becoming more efficient. So I’m doing more intermittent fasting or full fast days and I’m waking up not hungry.
  • And plenty of energy, and really clear minded which helps me podcast interview.
  • I feel great. I feel really good. And now I’m ready to move to the next level and help people.

DANGER ZONE OF PEOPLE WHO’S NEW IN KETO

  • People rush into it and they don’t get the info.
You need to read to a little about it, you need to understand it, and you need a game plan, or read a book about it from people know what they are talking about.
  • People kind of dabble.
  • I feel people should do a little bit of sugar detox and a little bit of carb ramp down as they lead into it.
  • People have to count their macros. I feel they need to understand those percentages.
  • I tried Keto a year ago, and I just thought I don’t need to manipulate my protein at all.
  • I was consuming 300 grams of protein.
I was eating a pound of grass-fed beef everyday.
  • My breakdowns right now are, 70-75 percent fat, 20-25 percent protein, and I keep below 5 percent carbs.
  • I was an athlete growing up and they said I got to have a lot protein.
  • And now, I’m leaner, my workouts are doing great and my sleep is great.
    My body is more efficient.
  • There’s one big huge danger zone and that’s what I call the “Cheatogenic Diet.”
  • But then they are falling off all the time.
They are cheating almost daily on it.
  • Let’s establish Ketosis, and let’s establish our momentum and let’s give this a shot to work.
  • Let’s get committed to that first.

WHAT IS YOUR GOAL?

  • My main goal right now is to learn as much as possible and experience it so that I can teach others.
I am not going to teach others unless I am not going to experience first.
  • I got to feel this. I got to do this.
  • I remember that I lost weight and I can see my abs.
  • With the Keto plan, I got really lean down quickly.
  • I look at myself in the mirror, I look how my body’s performing, how I’m performing with my endurance test and I know things are cool.
  • I have so many clients that struggles with weighing issues.
I’ll do it maybe every once in awhile, but it is not that necessary for me.
  • With Keto, I’m really excited to have another weapon and tool.

WORDS OF WISDOM

  • I try to paint a picture.
Because with losing weight, getting healthy, with body transformation – there’s a lot of confusion.
And there’s people out there willing to take actions, they just don’t which directions they go and how hard the phase to walk out.
  • So I’ve been through it.
So I create processes and name the, and explain them.
  • This is the process I called, “The Amazing Results Formula” and there are 4 components.
  • First component is you have to be committed to a nutrition plan.
  • Second component is you have to be committed to a fitness plan.
  • Third is strategic thinking.
You implement strategic thinking in to your transformation.
Thinking strategically mainly by being able to identify, analyze and overcome the danger zone.
  • Fourth thing is being able to apply the first three consistently over time.
  • And if people will do these 4 things, the results will happen.

WHAT QUOTE THAT INSPIRES YOU?

  • “Even though I can’t be at my best, I can still do my best.”
  • “When you can’t be at your best, you can still do your best”
  • “For things that change, you have to change.
For things to get better, you have to get better.” –Henry Ford
  • I accomplished every single goal that I set 5 years before.
  • I was 7 days late in opening my fitness facilities.
  • And 5 years later, everything has accomplished.
  • From unhappy and kind of heartbroken to married and with a child.
  • A 100 pounds down, business, thriving and people losing thousand of weight.
  • A year and a half ago I did not have a podcast, the million pound mission thing was not really happening and now I got ranked number 60 in the fitness and health podcast.
  • I just feel so grateful.
  • The guy who used to look in the mirror and be depressed about how I look and how I felt, and now I can help other people escape that exact thing situation.
  • I’m just grateful every single day to be able to connect with people and help them make a change.
