#147 Marcia Friesen – Down 17 lbs with Keto and Intermittent Fasting

 

Meet Marcia:

Marcia is one of our clients who has lost 17 lbs. through Keto with Intermittent Fasting for 90 days. With a medical background in nursing, and studying a little bit of nutrition, she has applied everything she has learned from her background and the techniques we’ve taught her in the EMPOWER U Transformation process.

Marcia is on her way to aging stronger and healthier instead of weaker and weaker.

ABOUT MARCIA

  • I am a registered nurse by background
  • About 15 years ago, I started my own company by doing net consulting work with hospitals and physicians all over the world
  • I retired not just a few months ago, and I really did look at the next 20 years and really focus on what do I really want in life, and what does that look like for me
  • I have always been into health and wellness, but I really want to dig deeper and learn more
  • I took a brief nutritional course and it just sparks my interest in learning more on how I can live long, vital and have a lot of energy – just be around my family
  • My personal interest lead me into this journey
  • Food is so important, it is the medicine
  • It is so important what we put in our body because the body is an amazing organism
  • It has been really fascinating to learn what foods are specific for my body
  • Just learning what is good and right for your own particular body is really important
  • The bone broth is so healing with my gut and just pure foods – foods that do not come in a box
  • Just really paying good attention to purchasing good quality proteins
  • My goal is 10-15 lbs and I actually lost 17 lbs
  • I am comfortable with where my weight settles in. It’s more about what you have helped me and more about how I feel
  • I really want to get off of my hormones, and I quit taking all my hormones, and I feel really good
  • I can do planks for 3 minutes, I feel strong and I have a lot more energy
  • My main purpose too was, my mom, passed away at 45 from cancer, and my dad passed away when he was in his 80’s but, he had diabetes developed when he in his 60’s which I am in, and he had heart disease, and I don’t want that
  • So, I asked myself what can I do to minimize those diseases and inflammation is huge in all of those, and I just want to do what I can
  • I feel like I have a basic understanding but through your program, I was really able to make things into a whole new other levels
  • It’s more than just food, it’s a holistic lifestyle
  • One of my new habits is, I have learned to drink more water and that hydrating your body and organs makes them function better
  • The psyllium in the morning has been wonderful at my gut and also the lemon water
  • Most of all, exercise commitment
  • I was not doing well with weightlifting or my strength training, and I am better at that now
  • Doing that first thing in the morning is so magical
  • On my night time routine, I love to drink tea, do a sauna and a bath
  • I have fallen in love with restorative yoga, I just think it is so amazing and what it does to your body and mind

WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU?

  • I am going to take on other new challenges and grow
  • I want to learn new things
  • I want to stay healthy, and not get injured
  • I love yoga and strength training, so just maintaining in those areas
  • It’s really fascinating how fasting works and how your body cleans up after themselves

  • It’s a journey and not a sprint race
  • Take your small wins and celebrate those in a positive way and build on those
  • Those little steps make huge results
  • If you slip up, just forgive yourself and go on, don’t just give up everything
  • Take it as a journey and celebrate your successes
