#53 Kendra and Ash – The Real Keto Couple

ABOUT KENDRA AND ASH 

  • We live in Michigan and run a full-time business from home
  • We have a 4 year old child
  • We live a “Keto-ish” lifestyle

KENDRA:

  • 2 years ago, I was a health and wellness coach. I became a health and wellness coach after I had my son.
  • I was working as a teacher, I was a single mom and I just felt terrible
  • I was inspired one day by something on the internet
  • Something inspired to be a better mom through health and wellness, and so I got started
  • For a couple of years I went through the traditional health and wellness field
  • While on the outside I look great, but I was always super tired
    Because I was not allowing myself to fully feel full or good
  • 2 years ago, I heard about the Ketogenic diet
  • I knew the benefits of it and it sounds like an absolute dream come true
  • So I tried it and I was weighing my food and counting my macros, and for me
    it was difficult. I struggled with it and my cravings were crazy
  • I end up trying it for 2 months and told myself that maybe Keto is not for me
  • Last year on April, I was going through Facebook and saw a girl with pink drink, and I can’t stop thinking about it
  • Long story short, we ended up getting this pure therapeutic ketones in the mail
  • And it was Ashley’s birthday and she said she wanted to try it just for her birthday because she was feeling the same way
  • And everything had went from black and white to color – everything lit up for me
  • We went on Facebook live and people were so intrigued and so interested based on our energy
  • The “keto-ish” means is that we eat low carb and avoid sugar
  • On the weekends Ash would like to have a beer and I like to have a glass of wine and I like pizza
  • I enjoy to indulge and the more time goes on, the more we realize how we really don’t feel good at all
  • So, “keto-ish” became full-time Keto

ASH:

  • I am Italian, so I love carbs
  • I was trying everything, but I always come back with lots pizza and sweets – I love sweets
  • And Kendra was telling me about this diet that I could eat a lot of bacon and butter and I am like, bet! I am all about that
  • So I was also measuring all the foods and I find it really hard
  • And when we saw that girl with the pink, we kind of stalked her
  • Kendra’s intuition and mine kind of match up
  • Keto is theway to eat, it is the way to treat our body and to feel really good
  • When I am more on the side of Keto than ish, I am using the pure therapeutic ketones to support that lifestyle
  • And I feel like an absolute superhero. I have more energy to play with our son, we are going on dates, we are being really kind to each other
  • It’s like our life takes on a different feel when we are loading our body with grains and sugars
  • The intermittent fasting has so many benefits that I wanted to do it for 60 hours

KENDRA:

  • We don’t track
  • In that window, I eat when I am hungry
  • I really eat salmon salads
  • We always eat, we just leave out the grains
  • A lot of snacks that we ate before, we definitely cut them out
  • And we put cauliflower on anything
  • The cauliflower pizza crust was awesome
  • I am so go with the flow, so easy going for me to be tied down to something where I have to weigh things
  • We are still happy being on the keto-ish lifestyle and being able to eat ice cream with our son
  • So, I just enjoy the moderation. The moderation really feels good to me and I love how I feel
  • To have that both and be able to have that balance is everything to us
  • At one point when I was a teenager, I was taking a poison control syrup to make myself throw up because I had this idea of a certain body and I was obsessed with it
  • When I found health and wellness and learned how to love my body, and to feel that balance and I found personal development
  • I did not go to a nutrition school, I pretty much taught myself on everything
  • We are already 1 year on this journey
  • We started April of last year
  • I do not attract those questions
  • I don’t approach anyone about ketones
  • People who find us and approach us are usually people who are interested in that flexibility
  • When it comes to the Ketogenic community and someone ask me specifically why would I want to pay money for a supplement that’s going to give me exact the same bio identical ketones that my body can already make?

  • I want to be super fit

  • Instead of having a glass of wine every weekend, I want to make into a couple of months and see what results we could get
  • I think it would be so cool and such a testament to the lifestyle to really just show massively insane results

Here are my results of their Keto Reboot: I lost 3.8 lbs, had lots of energy, my ring was able to come off again and the bloat was gone. Granted, I spent a lot of time in the bathroom. But will do it again for sure! Like soon!

Basically, you do not eat food for 60 hours. But, you drink therapeutic ketones 5 times a day. They keep you satisfied and boost your energy. For me, sometimes it’s just easier not to eat.
