On May 8th I went under the knife and had knee surgery on both knees. Call me crazy, but I didn’t want to have to go through the recovery twice and they were equally painful with torn meniscus, to the point of waking me up at night!
Dr. Blatz said if we do this on Friday, you will be back to work on Monday.
LOL guess he didn’t realize what I did for work!
During surgery, he realized that both knees were not tracking properly on my femur and he would need to do a lateral release. This procedure could only be done on one knee at a time, since you can’t walk on it. Since the underside of my right patella looked like crab meat, he decided to go with that one (it’s supposed to be smooth).
He basically cut the tendon on the right side of my knee cap leg to allow the knee cap to move to the proper alignment. ouchie wa wa! I even had to wrap my leg in Stretch Tite to take a shower.
Well let me tell you, after 2 weeks I am proud to say I am off crutches, the stitches are out, and I have a quad of mush and a cantaloupe for a knee. It looks quite ugly.
Your knee is so fat, i can poke a hole in it and water the lawn
ok whatever, just hope I don’t get stretch marks!
All kidding aside, I have been laying on the couch more than I can ever remember. I even read a 450 page book in 9 days.
Stitches out….the doctor asked if I wanted my cantaloupe drained, and I chickened out….if there is still fluid in it in 2 weeks, then he will drain the sucker!
Just wanted you to know that I am NOT ignoring you, just sitting at the computer is still painful and I have been in re-coop mode.
Since I am feeling so much better, be ready for next weeks lessons on health and healing!
