I kind of get obsess in eating, but now that I have found this Keto journey and seen what has done to me not only physically, but also emotionally, I want everyone else to experience that.
I want to help as many people as I can
What really drives me is my own success
YOURSELF BEFORE KETO
I have struggled my weight my whole life
I’ve never been obese but definitely pretty overweight
In High school is when I finally started dieting and I was able to lose about 40 pounds just doing portion control and eating a little bit better
I was always in sports so I am sure that helped a lot
I was able to make it off from high school to freshmen of college
It wasn’t until the summer of my freshmen year of college. That is where I got myself to a bad place
I was restricting what I was eating. I was eating under a thousand of calories a day and I was working out 2 hours a day 5 to 6 days a week
It was not a really good place to be in
I was lucky enough at that time to meet my current boyfriend at that time and 2 years into dating him, I have gained over 40 pounds
Through out the whole time I know I was gaining weight, but I really don’t want to weigh myself. I don’t want to see the numbers
The spring of 2016 was when I found out that I have a high blood pressure. I was only 21 years old.
I went to my doctor and asked what can I do since I have already tried eating better and he told me to drink less pop and eat less sodium
I never eat fast food and I have never drank pop in my life
I just kept trying how to lose weight and wasn’t working out I was really discouraged
I have a friend, who I work with and I followed her on Facebook. She had lost 30 pounds and she did body building competition
I sent her a message and I told her that I am really struggling in losing weight and she gave me a typical body builder advice.
So I was eating complex carbs, low fat, high protein and I was eating too low calorie because in my head you have to eat low calorie to lose weight.
I remember I was eating clean and I was working hard, and I was so excited to weigh myself and I have gained 3 or 4 pounds. I was so discouraged
That what lead me up to Keto
I found Keto by the same girl. Her and her husband has started doing this crazy diet – Keto
I did not talk to her about it, I just researched it online
That was the November of 2016
I was also kind of skeptical about it.
The day after thanksgiving, I stepped on the scale and I was the highest weight I have ever been in my life
I was like, “Today is the day. I am starting Keto and I am going to try.” That’s what lead me up to it
When I first started Keto, I did eat low calorie
It wasn’t until 3 weeks or 4 weeks into my Keto journey that I listened to her podcast talking about calories and I was just mind blown up
I went to eating a thousand calories –regular dieting to 2 thousand to 22 hundred on Keto and I was dropping weight
That was my favorite part. Just finally letting go of the calories.
OBSTACLES
The calorie thing was one
I lost a lot of weight pretty quick and after that it was pretty slow
And I have learned about eating too much protein
I was eating a 100 grams of protein a day and now I am averaging like 70 or less
In the beginning, it was pretty hard for me to give up my sweets
At the time I was in college when I started Keto and the reps would come in everyday and they will bring us these lunches and it was always like pasta, desserts, cookies and cakes.
I was there eating my lunch and I am still used to eat treats. So I am just there staring at everyone while they are eating their treats
I love Keto treats. They taste great to me.
It’s definitely double chocolate chips of cookies
In the beginning of Keto I really backed out in working out
I get back into it 2 months ago doing it 5 days a week
I followed Robert Sikes and Danny Vega
I am really doing some research and I want to lose some more body fat and tone up
I do track but I don’t always count my macros and that’s what I really want to get more strict into doing it
I do net carbs but I kept an eye at my total carbs
I’ll probably say id I get any carbs in, I get it from vegies, nuts, almond butter or cream cheese
I don’t really love vegetables. I love my broccoli and butter, but I can live without them
I am super interested in what Danny and Mara are doing right now. The no vegies and stuff, because I feel really weird after eating a certain vegies
I have experimented fasting on and off
I have a lot of bone broth save off and I think I am going to try doing more fasting
A DAY IN KETO
Sometimes, I switch it up
But I can eat eggs every morning
This week I am having eggs
And I make my scrambled eggs super fatty. I add a little bit of bacon grease, cheese and heavy whipping cream
I usually eat half of an avocado
Then for my lunch, I take it from work for me. I make my own drink.
And this is how I really edit my macros every week
If my macros for the day are not adding up, I will just drink this.
Because you can at MCT oil. It has Ice, cocoa powder, Iced coffee and I put some sort of sweetener in it and then I add my collagen protein powder
That drink really helps me get everything
This week, my dinner will be burger patties, cheese, bacon and the other half of the avocado
I make my own homemade mayonnaise and I add 3 tablespoon of that with the burger
I have been typically doing desserts when I come home. The dessert I do is just canned coconut cream, cocoa powder, vanilla and a sweetener
I eat my dinner at 3:30 and not eat until the next day
I tried eating no dairy for a whole week and it did not go well, but I definitely wan to try it again.
HOW MANY POUNDS HAVE YOU LOST ON KETO AND HOW LONG DID IT TAKE?
Overall, I have lost about 35 pounds
I did lost 10 pounds for the last couple weeks
I lost my first 20 pounds within the first 3 months. It was very fast. The on after, it was very slow
The most relieving feeling about Keto is not gaining the weight back. I know I can just eat normal and I won’t gain weight
HEALTH BENEFITS
More energy
So much more focus
My blood pressure went down within two weeks just being in Keto
It helped me with my relationship with food too I did not realize how addicted to sweets I was and now I can pass
I have way more confidence now
I am so much more comfortable with myself
My boyfriend is not in Keto. He is always in a good shape, but he has little health problems.
He is like my experiment. I always try to get him into Keto because I can feel it can help him in so many ways
He is a pretty anxious person, he has stomach issues and stuff, and I feel like Keto is exactly what he needs
I’ve helped my mom in Keto
She was sick of years and her doctors could not help her
She tried Keto last year in May and she’s the healthiest I have seen her
I would say he has irritable bowel syndrome, gerd acid reflux
Those are two things that doctors diagnosed that aren’t actually real things. It’s just that they don’t know what’s wrong with you.
So I feel like Keto could help him with that
ADVICE
Don’t be afraid of the calories
Don’t be afraid of the fat
To become fat adapted, you would really need that high-fat in the beginning
