I live alone in my little apartment so it is easy to stay Keto that way
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO KETO?
I started Keto April of last year
I decided I needed to join the gym, so they gave me trainer
Honestly, I am glad I did. Because I don’t think I would have lost what I did if I didn’t have him or have the guidance
From when I started with him on April 20th, I weighed 276
We would weigh myself every month and I really was not losing anything
So when it came down in November, I have only lost 24 pounds, but my trainer decided that I should do Keto since I am tracking everything that I am and it just did not workout for me
My first day of Keto was November 8, 2017 and since then I stayed Keto and haven’t have a cheat day
Since starting Keto, I have lost 56 pounds a total of 81 pounds in 13 months
I feel so much better
Before, I always feel sluggish. I had headaches, and just so tired after sitting on my cubicle for 8 hours
Ever since I started Keto, I just feel so much better
My mind is so much better, physically doing better and doing consistently my workouts or training with my trainer has really helped me out too
My trainer is not Keto, but her girlfriend does Keto though
So when he suggested Keto, he told me that he’ll get his girlfriend to give me some pointers that I can use
And I just went full Keto the next day
I did a Keto thanksgiving
And I really thought that, that was my first holiday to stay Keto, and I just basically eat turkey and regular green beans and made myself a Keto pumpkin pie
I did track my macros
I tried to do 80% fat, 5% carbs and 15% protein
I try to do total carbs
I like brussel sprouts, cauliflower and broccoli for my carbs
I cook my brussel sprouts by roasting them in the oven. I put some olive oi, salt and pepper and I put Parmesan cheese on them. I do the same thing with broccoli too
I like it when it is crispy, brown and a little bit salty
I like peanut butter but I know that it is not necessarily Keto
YOUR FAVORITES ABOUT KETO
I used to be super forgetful
I haven’t have may headaches as I used to
My energy has been better
I do not have migraines or anything but just staring at my computer screen for 8 hours will sometimes give me headaches
Well, I had headaches but not many as I used to
TOUGH SPOTS
I am kind of experiencing one right now
I have been stuck on the same pounds and it is kind of frustrating
I am stuck for 195 for the last month and a half
I have not tried a super long fast
I have done a 24 hour fast but it end up me needing something to eat
I tried but I haven’t succeeded
The highest I’ve hit was 180 fat which I think was a whole bunch
I do dairy so I put a heavy whipping cream on my coffee, and MCT oil, so that probably helps a lot
But I pretty much put butter on everything that I eat
Once a week, I always have a steak. I try to make a rib eye with cauliflower
I do like Keto treats but I try to limit them
For certain family get together, I have a bunch uncles that are diabetic, so it kind of help that I make a sugar-free dessert that I can share with them
I made a cheesecake one time and it was delicious. My mom could not even tell that there were no sugar in it
ADVICE
Everybody Keto differently, so don’t compare yourself to other people
Don’t compare your weight loss if that is what you are going for
Everybody is different
Nobody’s the same and nobody Keto the same
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU?
Just to get to my goal weight
I only have 20 or 30 pounds to lose, so hopefully that will happen pretty soon
And I am going to run another 5k because I have already done one
