You’ve heard the name “keto” or “ketogenic diet” floating around lately. And you’ve probably heard that it’s supposed to cure diseases and help you lose weight.
But is there any truth to any of the claims or is it just another version of low carb that’s in vogue right now?
If you haven’t come across it before, the ketogenic diet is a way of eating to help you enter into the metabolic state called ketosis where you primarily “burn” ketones for energy instead of glucose. And the truth is that there’s a lot of good research that being in ketosis could help you slow aging, prevent and cure cancer, reverse Alzheimer’s, prevent Type 2 diabetes, and way more.
I know it sounds a bit too good to be true, and to be honest, there’s a lot of myths about keto floating around too. As with any new science and research, it’s really hard to sort through all the myths/claims from the what science actually shows. That’s why I’m excited about the Keto Summit that’s launching on September 25th. HERE
They’ve gone out and done all the leg work for us – this event brings together all of the world’s best keto researchers, doctors, and practitioners, who all gave up their time for free to tell you about the latest science and practical tips that they’ve found to work.
One of the talks I’m really excited about hearing is the one by Dr. Tom Seyfried. He’s going to explain some of the problems with the current cancer treatments as well as tell you about the studies suggesting how ketosis could save a lot more lives by preventing and treating cancer!
Another talk I’m looking forward to is the one by Dr. Grace Liu on Healing and Protecting Your Gut Health: Prebiotics, Veggies, & More. Her talk is useful even if you don’t plan to be in ketosis.
And if you’re looking to lose weight or have blood sugar issues, then Dr. Jason Fung’s talk on Controlling Sugar, Beating Diabetes, & Losing Weight on a Keto Diet is very informative. He’s got a lot of experience helping people overcome these issues, so he talks about the science but also about what has actually worked for his patients.
