ABOUT WADE

  • I grew up in Eastern Canada
  • I played hockey and did all kinds of normal stuff. Nothing extraordinary in my life, until when I was 15 years old, 3 big things happened to me that set course to my life
  • First, my sister who was 4 years older than me was diagnosed with Hodgkin disease and I watched him go through the medical model before she died at the age of 22
  • It impacted me and set my course and direction for health, performance, and optimization because I realized that health isn’t a guarantee and life isn’t a guarantee
  • The other thing is that my parents had moved to a very rural place, so I had a lot of time to think, to contemplate, to be in nature and to read
  • My sister gave me a bodybuilding book and I saw these gigantic muscle man with these beautiful girls on the cover
  • Then, I started lifting weights and that led me to the university where I studied exercise physiology
  • I felt like the education – although it gave me a background, was incomplete
  • And then, I started following mentors after that
  • People that were performing what I called, high levels of performance that led me to a coaching relationship with Scott Abel, which led eventually to me in winning a bunch of Canadian championships, going to Mr. Universe, entering the nutrition world and virtually from every level on that
  • Then, I started a company in 2004 with my business partner, Matt to fix digestive issues because I after the Mr. Universe, I’ve gained 42 lbs. of fat and water
  • And then, I met a doctor who was in his 70’s. but super vibrant and strong and I was asking him what I was doing wrong he told me, “You’ve learned to build from the body on the outside in and have not learned to build the body from the inside out”
  • That really impacted me because I assumed that everything I ate turned into energy
  • I followed the doctor’s protocol, rebuilt myself inside out using enzymes, probiotic and nutrients
  • After 6 months, I felt amazing
  • I went out and started coaching other people and since that time, I’ve helped over 50 thousand people in correcting their digestive issues
  • In our society today, we have images of athletes, models, actresses, famous people that are on the cover of a magazine, Instagram or Facebook who are using those pictures to promote a certain “body ideal”
  • Whether it is a performance-based culture or self-esteem, or whatever the inner motivation that seeks us to go to what I call, cosmetic look
  • And body-building, for the most part, is a cosmetic sport
  • What happened was, I was in an extremely restrictive diet for an extended period of time, and that diet got me into the external ideal, but it set me out to an internal failure
  • This is very common in the fitness industry and also in the celebrity industry
  • I did not understand why at that time and now I do
  • I realized that many of these quick fixes, short-term, externalize motivators wind up really damaging your health
  • So, if you don’t do anything and just do what everybody else does, you mess up your digestion and if you’re doing the cosmetic ideas, you mess up your digestion
  • And I asked myself why is this happening and that’s what I have spent for the last 15 years
  • We have a process of digestion and most people think that we eat the food and it goes into the system and it doesn’t stay
  • But there are 5 stages to digestion
  • The first base is the taste, smell and chew the food. Your body will recognize what it is and will start to produce enzymes which is an environmental adaptation
  • We chew the food that masticates that goes down the esophagus into the upper cardiac portion of the stomach where the enzymes present in food are supposed to breakdown the food
  • Enzymes are chemical agents that have both the chemical function and the biological function
  • They are responsible for over 25,000 different processes in the body. Everything from thinking to blinking requires an enzyme
  • All living things require enzymes, all non-living things don’t
  • Every species on the planet, they eat the food in the live enzymatic rich state
  • The number one problem in humanity has been starvation – not getting enough nutrient, nutrient deficient and calorie deficient based diseases
  • We have solved that in the industrialized world by creating the “industrial food complex” which is the growing manufacturing distribution of food, which is really advanced and it solved a lot of problems, but created other ones
  • One, we cook all our food and irradiate all of our food. So basically, we knock out all the enzymes in our food consumption
  • What happens, our body has then produced its own enzymes and this has led to our pancreas being 4 and a half times the size of any other species at the same weight
  • In any other words, we have adapted to the industrialized food, slightly
  • The problem with that is, without enzymes, when we have to manufacture our own, we have left enzymes to perform other chemical reactions inside the body, outside digestion
  • That first 30-60 minutes of the food that got to the cardiac portion, the enzymes present are supposed to break that down
  • The next phase of digestion is, hydrochloric acid comes in it about 30 to 60 minutes
  • Hydrochloric acid has 2 distinct functions. One, it disinfects. If you don’t produce enough acid, you’re going to have acid reflux or heartburn
  • Your stomach has a little sphinx around the top of it and it closes when there’s enough hydrochloric acid is present in the food and it stays open when you are not digesting properly
  • The food then is called, bicarbonate buffers which are minerals to prevent from having ulcers and reduces that acidic food and it goes into your intestinal tract
  • In the intestinal tract, this is where the probiotics will start to breakdown that food to the final ingredients and transport it over the intestinal linings into building blocks and energy production
  • In your digestive canal or inside your intestines, you are going to have 10% bad, 10% good and 80% opportunist
  • The final stage is you get through peristaltic contractions
  • It’s the contraction of the smooth muscle tissue. It moves the food and out, and that’s where you get to elimination
  • If you have an interruption in the microbiome, you’re not breaking your food down, you’re not hydrated properly, you sit a lot and you don’t exercise a lot, oftentimes, you end up problems going to the bathrooms
  • In our company, we’ve addressed each one of these issues independently and also as a collective whole
  • 12% of all emergency hospitals visits today in the United States are gastrointestinal relates issues
  • About 95 million Americans are suffering from some sort of digestive distress
  • So, the 3 big things to correct it is, enzymes, hydrochloric acid, and high-quality probiotics
  • Those 3 things are usually the foundation of any gut reset
  • The technical theory of raw foods is, the enzymes are present, but going back to our industrial food problem, we have a couple of issues
  • First, oftentimes foods are sprayed with herbicide, pesticide, and fungicide
  • These agents interrupt enzymatic activity in bugs, and that’s why it kills the bugs
  • Second thing, when food is transported from one place to another, it’s been irradiated to protect it, but it has also killed the enzymes
  • The third is, many of the foods that we eat today are grown in monoculture
  • All kinds of people will say that they have tried everything and nothing works, which is not true
  • I know what that struggle feels like and I think it is important to realize that it’s okay where you are, but if you do not take some actions, you are headed to some form of prescription of medication and will be dealing with some sort of disability that will really compromise your life and we want to reverse that
  • It’s not the quantity of life, but the quality of life
  • You want to remove the inflammatory agents inside your body and I think getting a naturopathic doctor to do some testing about your epigenetics and genetics to see which types of food are right for your body and which are causing problems
  • People also are not drinking enough water and I mean filtered water
  • And you also want to look at resetting your gut and in resetting your gut, you want to set aside about 90 days of not taking the inflammatory products and you want to get a professional help
  • And take enzymes, hydrochloric acid, and probiotics daily for those 90 days
  • One of the big components of aging is actually a build-up of undigested protein inside the body
  • When you are not properly digesting and breaking down protein, you’ll have a much more difficult time making your nails, hair and your skin
  • When we build-up protein inside the cells, it starts losing the elasticity in our skin and slowing down energy metabolism in the body
  • The best way to combat that is through a high component of proteolytic enzymes
  • Proteolytic enzymes break down protein
  • There are a couple of things that are determined the effectiveness of digestive health product
  • If you got a hundred thousand huts per cap, you will need 1-3 capsules for meal
  • If you eat 3 times a day, you will take somewhere 1 to 9 caps before your meal, 1 to 3 on each one for those meals
  • By taking high dosages of any particular product, you would eventually break the GI barrier
  • With enzymes, there’s seems to be no level which will break the GI barriers and I personally tested myself
  • When you stop requiring your metabolic enzymes to break the food in your body, there are going to repair your organs and skin and that’s the benefit of fasting
  • Fasting simply reduces the drain of digestion
  • When people fast, they heal quickly because those enzymes being used to digestion, it will fix the body instead
  • That’s why high dosage of enzymes is very effective in that process
  • Every single diet has benefits and liability
  • And I think a lot of people that are moving over to carnivore diet has a couple of advantages
  • One, it’s a high satiety diet and it takes a lot of energy to breakdown meat
  • I believe that you can be healthy one almost any diet that’s outside the standard American diet if you’re following on what fits your genetics or lifestyle
