Are you aware of what you are putting in your skin every day and night?
Today, we are going to talk about personal care and toxins that confine their way into your body.
Let’s face it, your skin is the largest organ. Can you believe it?
So we want to protect what goes inside of our body by being careful of what we put on our skin.
There are lots of ingredients that sneak into our skin that come from our skincare products.
When I first found out about this, I threw away tons of products, even brand new ones because I didn’t want to give it away and
didn’t I didn’t want to hurt somebody else.
Here is the list of toxic ingredients you want to ditch!
1.Parabens
Look at your skincare products and see if it has parabens. It can say Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben – anything that ends in a paraben.
They have found that breast tumors have traces of parabens in them more often than not. So make sure to look for anything with no parabens.
2. Fragrance
I know we all like to smell good but fragrances are not always the healthiest thing.
The best thing to do is if you’re going out on a special night is to spray on your clothes, and not your body.
If you really want to smell good, you can use essential oils and my favorite one is called JOY by Young Living.
3. Sulfates
Sulfates are found in things that get foamy like your hair is stuff.
You know how you shampoo and it gets all foamy? That means there’s sulfates in there and those are best avoided.
Are we always going to be perfect? No.
The best thing about hair care is, it’s on and off really quick but it only takes a moment to absorb into your skin so be careful
with the sulfates. You will still get clean whether you have sudsy foamy hair or not.
4. Mineral Oil
So oftentimes, they add mineral oil to moisturizers because they want to give you some oil but they can clog pores and they can also lead to skin reactions.
5.Phthalates
You really want to stay away from those because they’re endocrine disruptors.
We’ve done a video on how to counter endocrine disruptors like phytoestrogens and things like that. So, be careful when it comes to phthalates
6.Petroleum
It is just not good it is drying on your skin. Period. And it’s obviously toxic. Just get rid of those.
Make sure to read the labels on your favorite skincare products. And throw away the ones that contain these harmful ingredients.
