How to Keto: Go Keto Now with MyFitness Pal and Correct Macros with The High Energy Girl

I am going to teach you how to get started on Keto. I am sure you’ve heard about the ketogenic diet. There’s a lot of buzz out there on the social space on the internet world.

At the end of this, I will give you a bonus tip on how you can actually stay committed to the Ketogenic lifestyle. Notice I did not say the word diet because Keto is a lifestyle when you actually understand the health benefits.

Step number one:

Clean out your pantry. Any foods that are in your pantry, your refrigerator or your freezer or anywhere in your home, get rid of it if it is not Keto food because the last thing you want is for food to actually call your name and have the risk of actually falling off the Keto lifestyle.

That is not good. When you I heard a statistic that said, if you cheat on Saturday, it takes oftentimes until Thursday to actually get fully into ketosis again. So clean out your pantry

Step number two:

Use a Ketogenic calculator. All you have to do is go to HighEnergyGirl.co, and go to keto calculator. Just click on the button and step one is you click on US customary if you’re in the US and you put in your age. Put your weight, your height, sedentary, lightly active or moderately active. This is one of the tricky parts. One of the mentors that I really like from Keto gained says to always use sedentary so you can choose to do that.

I actually say I’m lightly active. My body fat percentage currently right now is about 26 net carbs or 20 I always say to start with that and then it automatically figures out everything, so maintenance level has me at twelve hundred and 74 calories for my BMR but I want a goal I want to lose some weight so I can either do a ten percent deficit a 20 percent deficit or a thirty percent deficit, so I am going to shoot for the 20 percent deficit and would be my macros and take those macros.

Step number three:

Put your macros into MyFitnessPal. It is an app you probably have heard about it or you use it right now, but you can set up your goals within MyFitnessPal to reflect the Keto macros which you determined.

Now, for Macros, some people will say what are your grams of protein carbs and fat, I recommend sticking to 20 grams of carbs to get started.

Next thing you are going to do is go to MyFitnessPal.com and hopefully you can set one up. Click on goals and then you’re going to look at my nutrition goals and click on edit.

MyFitnes Pal plan out your meals to fit into the Keto macros that you determined and make them simple like vegetables cooked in olive oil, coconut oil, butter or whatever and then protein on top. Always start with your protein measurement. That’s what I do so if I’m having 85 grams of protein and I break it out into three different meals and I have that much at each meal.

Bonus tip:

Do your research on all the health benefits of a Ketogenic diet. Just Google it up and you’ll find all kinds of information. When I was at Keto Con, I heard people speak on how they healed their body from cancer, Parkinson’s disease, depression, type 2 diabetes, bipolar disorder, Alzheimer, heart disease- there was so many things, I can’t even tell you, but do your research and look at your genetic tree and decide if you want to follow either one of those pathways or you want to you know go out and forge your own Trail. That is what I’m choosing to, forge my own Trail, to live a life to health.

After you determine that, write out your why statement. Write down the reasons why you want to move forward on this why live by it. Write it out like a year from now as if you’re looking into the future a year from now and what does your life look like and write it in that tense as if you’re already there

Write down your your vision statement as if it’s a year in the future.

So, you are going to clean out your pantry, you’re going to determine your macros on the Keto calculator, plug them into MyFitnessPal and then create a meal plan that you can follow and super simple.

Don’t get over complicated with recipes and fancy ingredients just do the super simple tips.
