Hey there this is Tracee, health coach and personal trainer from HighEnergyGirl.com and in this video I am going to teach you how to grow your own broccoli sprouts
And be sure to stay till the end because I’m going to give you a link to a place where you can get a really good deal and buy broccoli sprouts by bulk.
So why do you think we’re growing broccoli sprouts? Well, let me tell you.
Broccoli sprouts are one of the most nutritious foods that you can absolutely eat, so think about it.
The seed is where all the little magic begins in life, right? But, when you take that seed, you grow it into a big old broccoli plant and a big old broccoli stock, you are dissipating those nutrients throughout that big growth of vegetation, but in the seed you eat it after only five days.
So imagine how much nutrition you get from one little seed, because you’re going to eat multiple
So I’m going to show you this this is going to be a little five day video project, but today is day one, so we’re going to start with a little seed sprouter, okay?
I love this one because I’m able to divide it into sections and it’s super easy, I can put it in the fridge and super clean.
DAY 1:
So the first thing I’m going to do is insert a tray divider, all right? So this gives me the ability to grow multiple crops at once. By dividing the tray I can do plant a little bit today a, little bit tomorrow, a little bit a few days after that and it works out really nice
Next, I’m going to take my big bag of awesome broccoli seed and you’re not going to believe the deal I get on this but I’m going to show you at the end of the video.
I’m going to compare the two different seed bags and tell you how much each one cost, okay?
Trust me, this is way cheaper way more efficient than going to Home Depot.
So what I’m going to do is take a tablespoon of broccoli seed and spread it in tray side one, okay?
Now, some of it gets in tray side two so I’m going to push it through and pass it. It’s never going to be perfect but I take one whole tablespoon and put it in tray side one.
Then, you put the lid on it and pour water over the top, okay? You just want to get it wet. So see the waters dripping through.
And then what I do is I empty you take the bottom part out and empty it. So now, these seeds are all wet, but they’re just getting started.
So now, I’m going to push everything over to the right side because my little tray thing wasn’t in all the way.
So push everything into the right side. We’ll check on it tomorrow.
DAY 2:
Welcome back!
Today is day two and I’m going to show you how these little broccoli sprouts are looking so far.
In order to keep this container going and growing, I’m going to add one more tablespoon, all right?
So, I’m just going to take my little spoon of my big bag of seeds and I’m going to put them on the other side of the tray, like so.
So check this out you’re going to look at the difference in just one day, okay?
You see the difference? See how that’s lighter? It’s like the seed shell – the casein is starting to pop, okay?
So, I’m going to put the little watering lid on and water both sides.
They don’t need that much water, okay? And then, you just empty out the bottom. And we’ll check back tomorrow.
DAY 3:
So, this is after about two and a half days, and I want to show you something cool.
So, if you look underneath you can see the roots.
So those roots are for the first batch we did, and then the roots are starting to come in on the second batch. Crazy, right?
And this is after three and a half days, okay? This was three and a half days; this one’s two and a half days. It’s interesting how apparently I water just the center and didn’t water the edges, because look at how these seeds haven’t really sprouted as much as these center ones.
So we have three and a half days, two and a half days and we will look at it again tomorrow.
DAY 5 and 6
