HOW TO PRACTICE MEDITATION:
Hey everyone my name is Tracee, health coach and personal trainer and founder of HighEnergyGirl.com.
In this video we are going to talk about another healthy habit hack, and I’m going to teach you three simple steps for you to incorporate a meditation practice in to your day.
Now be sure to stay to the end because I am going to give you a complete list of all of the healthy habit hacks that you can do to take your life to the next level.
We’ve already gone through healthy habit hack number one, which is drinking your water.
Number two, which is doing your fat coffee.
Number three is going to the gym and then we get home from the gym and it’s time to meditate.
Now if you’re like I used to be, you let everything else get in your way. All the distractions, the emails, the Facebook and all of the different things that kind of get your head – laundry, dishes, whatever, well guess what? That is not going to work.
So step number, one is do it right away.
As soon as you are done with your workout when you get home, hit the meditation. Do not check social media do not check email, do not look at your dishes or your laundry or anything else, and get distracted. Go straight into your meditation spot and find your quiet place.
Maybe that’s your car, maybe you pull into your garage and you put on your headphones and you do your meditation.
The best time for me to do meditation is in my car right after the gym before anything else in my life gets in the way.
Maybe that is in a special like little room that there’s no noise or no distractions, or no animals jumping on you.
But find your happy spot and do it without any distractions get in your way, all right?
Tip number two- just take ten minutes.
So my meditation time is 6:45 in the morning.
I go to the gym from 5:30 to 6:30, I get home and I go straight into the room that I’m going to meditate in all by myself and I just say I can do anything for ten minutes.
One of my gurus said if you don’t have ten minutes to meditate you need an hour and who has an hour right? So, take the 10 minutes, it will set your day up on a really positive note. Also, it will train your mind set on the why. Like, on how to focus instead of living in like lala land in our head, but on how to train our minds
to focus on the things that are the most important, okay? So, just ten minutes.
And tip number three is, use an app.
There are several different guided meditation apps and I will show you those right now.
I prefer the latter, but it depends on you. They’re both really good apps and see which one you prefer.
So the first app I tried was headspace and you can sign up for free and do a little trial. So, just go to headspace calm and you can sign up with your Facebook account. So here we go, if you want to do ten minutes like I selected or maybe you’re a complete beginner and you want to just do three minutes, go for that, alright?
Just something is better than nothing; okay?
And then there is another one that I like.
So, go to calm.com forward slash free trial, just sign in again with Facebook. I already have this on my phone because it’s the one that I prefer, okay?
I just do the daily column, which is the daily 10-minute meditation.
Now I’m going to be completely honest, meditating is probably the hardest healthy habit that I have it is so hard for me to sit down and quiet my mind, but I just work really hard at it until it’s a complete and absolute habit, okay?
So there you have it!
Those are two options for meditation apps that I have tried – just happen to prefer calm right now because I find Tamara Levitz voice very soothing to me.
So what I recommend doing is trying both and seeing which one you prefer.
So do you remember that cheat sheet I promised you at the beginning of the video? Well, here it is.

It takes about 30 days to actually develop a habit by practicing something new every single day for 30 days. You can take that habitand make it an actual ritual.
So the goal is to pick one or two for the morning and one or two for the evening.
And in this little cheat sheet, it helps you. So what you want to do is focus on what you want and then when you actually do it you write it down, so that you kind of do a little check mark every single day and the link will be in the card right above.
