ABOUT CYNDI

  • I am 59 years old
  • I have a history of back and knee injuries and I just completed a year post knee replacement
  • I have been quite overweight for a long time and been relatively inactive
  • I have diabetes and high cholesterol and I have a sleep disorder and also, depression
  • Prior to retiring, I started the Lean Lady Challenge
  • Even before that, I was going through some pictures and I saw a picture of me at my son’s wedding and I just was upset or really shock at the way I looked
  • I was very heavy and it’s what gave me the pushed to need to do something about it
  • So, the Lean Lady Challenge popped out on my Facebook and joined it
  • I have tried multiple diets, told different ways of eating on each diet and your recommendation and program presented a more realistic approach to weight loss
  • Back in the days, we were told not to eat fat and we were told a lot of incorrect information that reinforce to what they call “yo-yo dieting”
  • It’s hard to be successful when you do not have active information
  • I can say that it presented me with a lot of challenges
  • For one, drinking more water than I have been drinking
  • So, I found it to be a lot of good information but on top of it, I was really excited because I can feel myself being drawn in and being motivated
  • This effective for me because of the way that it was presented, and it just did not focus on losing weight, it focuses in all of the components that are important too like, losing weight being healthy, getting stronger, sleep, mindfulness and motivation
  • When I first started the program, I did have back issues and still have it but they are not flaring up
  • And we also talked about sleep and your tools on how to improve our sleep
  • I got referred to a chiropractor, go through some chiropractic treatment that allows me to strengthen my back and continued to get adjustments as I went to the process and that really made such a difference because then I was able to progress into exercising and using the TRX, walking and riding the bike
  • As of the end of last week, I have lost 31 Lbs
  • I feel like I have more energy, I feel like I want to get out and do something
  • It makes me want to do more physical rather than sitting
  • When I looked at my side by side picture of me then and me now, it just pushes my motivation to get to my goal

FAVORITE FOOD

  • I love vegetables and I love roasting them
  • If I had my choice, I would cook all my vegetables
  • I keep tons of avocados in my kitchen and tons of lemons
  • I would never buy an avocado and just buy guacamole, but now, I can make my own guacamole
  • Before I started the challenge, I actually was taking turmeric by the bottle
  • I have not really cooked with it, and that’s my next goal
  • I never really have a problem with the protein but I am not fond of lamb
  • I was a burger person, so I expanded that
  • I eat nuts, but in moderation, because I noticed that eating nuts could possibly be slowing down my weight loss
  • One of the foods that made it tolerable to eat chicken was the butter chicken
  • The taco salad and Mediterranean salmon on your cookbook was really good and I am a lover of salmon
  • For the most part, I just stay in my comfort zone and just burger or chicken
  • For the 90 days, I thought I felt hungry but I do not think that I was really hungry
  • If my stomach growls or I get these signals, I would just drink more water and if it continued, that’s the time I knew I am hungry but it did not
  • I can say, for the most part, I did 2 meals a day and I have not done a time restrictive eating before

GOALS

  • Currently, I am taking the immunity challenge so that I can be more aware of improving my immunity and also my gut health
  • I am kind of exploring my gut health and what I need to add to make it healthy
  • My goal is to continue to exercise which I have been doing
  • I also want to continue to eat the way I have been eating
  • I have no desire to go back on the way I was eating before I started the lean lady challenge
  • My goal is to keep eating the way I am eating, lose another 30 Lbs, and build muscle
  • I want to decrease all the fat that has been accumulated over the years
  • What I see in my mind right now is my mom before she passed away – she got weak and small, no strength and I do not want to be that way
  • I want to be able to handle things physically and have the strength and be able to be stronger
  • If your program was just a weight loss program I probably would just pass it by
  • But what really pulled me in was the other areas that are factors in like, maintaining the healthy lifestyle, sleep, meditation and so much more
  • There is so much more to have a healthy lifestyle than just losing weight
  • I would love to reduce or eliminate my medications, and I am remaining hopeful
  • This was the right choice for me, going through your programs and as I’ve mentioned, I am continuing the immunity program
  • If you see that you have a variety of different needs and you want to improve your overall health, this is one of the best ways to do it because you’re not just going to get the tools and guidance but you would also get the support from Tracee
  • Tracee walks the talk and that speaks volume to me
  • Even if I did all the work, I don’t think I would have been able to do it if I did not follow Tracee’s program
