Fitness has always been a part of my life. I was a high school and college athlete, and an avid runner. I was the poster child of health and fitness. Until I wasn’t. It all came crashing down like a punch in the gut. My husband and I have fought through more health problems than you can imagine – including several chronic diseases like cancer, IBS, and CRPS. I have had more gym memberships then I can count. I have tried so many different diet and nutrition programs that my shelves can barely support the weight of the books.
As a result, I’ve learned the importance of resiliency and the healing power of the mind and spirit. I understand, for sustainable long-term effects, you must heal from the inside out. I value research and love to problem solve. Since 2002, I’ve dedicated my career to help people achieve their health goals. I’ve worked with people of all ages, sizes, and backgrounds. Each of them brought a unique set of experiences and health problems. I have helped hundreds of clients change their lives and improve their health. I know I can help you too.

ABOUT TRACEE
I have been a fitness and nutrition coach since 2011 and I have always been somebody that loves working out
I was an athlete when I was young
I am from Buffalo, New York and I moved down to Texas when I was 26 years old
I have 2 boys, I am married and my story has always been wanting to help people become their best selves
And to find that through really changing their health story instead of their health history
The way that I have done that is through personal training and nutrition coaching
There’s a lot of nutritional information out there and it really affects how people want to start
They are not sure where to go with that information, they feel overwhelmed by it and sometimes I think it keeps them stuck, and so they will continue with maybe an unhealthy habit instead of trying something different
My business model is I have an in-home gym
My garage is transformed into a gym and I also work in a personal training gym a couple days a week just for some clients that are closer to Dallas
My tagline is, “Changing the mirror from the inside out”
And really what that is about is, no matter what you are doing, fitness or nutrition, life coaching or whatever it is, you have to start with the inside
You have to start with having that mindset reset, because when the mind is broken, the body is going to follow
I really want to help people to select their thoughts like they select their clothes everyday
Really being able to look deeper inside of themselves
No matter what I was doing, you are not just talking fitness or food, you are always talking about the emotions that are connected to those things as well
When somebody believes that they do not have the ability to change their thinking, that’s when we they stay the same
Mastering your thoughts is something I want to empower women to do
I think one of the first things that I do as a nutrition coach is to help people learn
I have a model and it’s called prism
Whether I was teaching people in the school system, or I was teaching a client, goal setting was still really overwhelming
And I think it is because we look at the long-term
To be able to help people recognize, we have to look at that big goal and then pull it back to our short-term goal
I kind of help them to think backwards
So, what are the habits that you need to change to hit that goal
And being able to teach people the steps that they need to take
Because then, it takes it from this idealistic thinking to very accurate realistic thinking
Now, they really understand that true change comes from our daily habits, and that’s what is going to help them get to their goal
I have an acronym called prism. I call it 3D training to being able to really train the body – looking at different angles of our body
Also, I use it to help them work through all the different goals in their life
And I will take a journal and I will let them write down letter P, and it means “physical”
So, they will write down all the physical goals they can think of
The next one is R and that’s going to be their “relational goals”
The next is letter I and that is going to be their “interpersonal” – what are the things inside of you that you want to change
The letter S is “spiritual side” – what are the spiritual things or who is your higher power
The letter M stands for “mental goals” or sometimes, “money” because that’s going to determine how much of an investment they are willing to put into their own health
In 2015 when I turned 40, I just found out that I had colorectal cancer and I had been “healthy”
I had been a really clean eater for probably 10-12 years before I even found out
But, I always had inflammation
That journey was very challenging. It shook my identity and who I was
Coming out of that made me want to dig even deeper into gut health
When I had 17, I had mono and that set me about 7-10 years journey of chronic fatigue
I started having IBS symptoms about 3 years later
When I was 25, I started to study more about organic foods and I have a friend of mine that shared with me how to eat a whole food lifestyle
I did have my appendix out when I was 29, and when I turned 40, I had cancer
So, I was told, after my first son, that I have an internal hemorrhoid but it was really tiny
With my second child, I did not have any of those symptoms
I did not do much thinking about it then, but looking back, it was a polyp that turned cancerous and it was over a 10-year period
In 2011, I started noticing that I had changes, like it feels kind of wonky down there
Here in Texas, they do not do rectal exams until you turn 40
I did not have any bleeding, it was just irritating
In 2014 is when I started having some bleeding and I went to a GI and when the GI met with me she gave me a colonoscopy and that’s how she found it
It was low enough that it I noticed something wrong, but it was too low that they could not reattach me so I ended up with a permanent colostomy
I got remarried while I was going through cancer
6 months after we got married, he ends up in the ER
I had my last chemo treatment and 6 hours later, he was on the ER
He had blood clots throughout his leg and into his lungs and developed a condition called CRPS
My husband’s started on his foot because of a sprain ankle that he had not taken care
We ended up finding this amazing chiropractor doctor in Arkansas, her name is Dr. Katinka
WISDOM FOR THE LISTENERS
There’s always the opportunity to rewrite your story
No matter how broken it may look, no matter how long you might have been unhealthy, there is always an opportunity to rewrite your story
Your pain has purpose and I think that is something that helps you to continue to grow
And we don’t have to stay where we’re at
I always want to challenge people to find their voice and create their own story
Be vulnerable with yourself
Help other people to know your story, because I think that empowers you to constantly be in a state of growth for your own health and well-being
There is so much more inside work that sometimes we have to do
If you are willing to go there, you will have the ability to transform
You will be able to take all the brokenness of your life and you will be able to make it into the masterpiece that you want
One thing I did not do before I had cancer was water fast
And I have been really fascinated with the research on doing a water fast
I followed Dr. Daniel Pompa and he is chiropractor from Utah, and he’s got a free eBook out there called, The Cellular Healing Diet
It’s a 5-day water fast and the cool thing is, it literally will help the old cells go through a process called autophagy and you will start to build new stem cells
And those stem cells are immature baby cells and can start going to the areas of your body that needs healing
When I went through cancer my white blood cell count dropped quite a bit
Now, has not changed for a good 3 years. It just stays the same
When my mom came down about a year ago she told me that we will try this water fasting
I did it and I had my appointment with my oncologist a couple weeks later
My white blood cells count bumped up
And I have done 3 of them now, and every time I go to the oncologist, it’s getting back into that normal range
I also have a 21-day whole food cleanse
I love the quote by Hippocrates, “Let food be thy medicine”
And so, I really encourage a whole food diet
In my cleanse, we would take away anything that can be inflammatory
This cleanse would really help people that have gut issues and inflammation and they will be able to see when they reintroduce some of those foods
Maybe some of those foods are not a problem forever, but if you can get your gut back on track, a lot of times you can heal
I really encourage whole foods and getting away with the processed stuff
My husband with the CRPS and the nerve condition, the Keto diet has been really beneficial
He sticks to Keto
I definitely do higher fat than I used to
I really believe that has helped my skin and hair
I fasted for 5 days
I always do the blood work with it
If you are somebody who is doing the Keto diet or a higher fat diet, you’ll get to that autophagy point a lot faster
I went right into menopause because of the radiation and I had put on 25 lbs at that point
For two years, I could not heal my body
I did the Keto diet or a cellular healing diet for 90 days and it really reset my blood work
Fruits has tons of great phytochemicals
The problem though is that, if your body is not able to uptake your insulin into the cells the way it needs to, all the fruit in the world is going to mimic sugar
At a chemical level, it breaks down the glucose and if you can’t clear the glucose you are going to have a high level of it that holds on to inflammation or weight
I’ll be 45 years old this year and I have always lived with that, “make the most of every opportunity”
After you get cancer, I think it just goes into an acceleration mode
All fear aside. I am just going to find what I need to do so that I can live my best life
