7 Things You Can Do to Look Younger

Men and women are frantically searching for “Fountain of Youth” remedies to make them look as young as they can. Many are choosing expensive medical treatments rather than searching for healthier alternatives.

There are some things you can do to look younger besides opting for injections of Botox or invasive surgeries like liposuction and facelifts. Take a look below at some of the “gentler” ways to appear and feel younger than you really are:

1. Dress Your Age

Almost nothing makes you look older than when you are attempting to dress in the same style of clothing that your daughter or granddaughter wears. So get out of your daughter’s closet and don’t shop at Forever 21, you are trying to hard when you do that stuff.

Now, i am not saying to ditch the thong for granny panties, or wear mom jeans instead of skinny jeans. But dress classy and you will rock your outfit with pride.

When you dress your age, you will appear younger than you are.

2. Sleep Your Way to Youth

Your best sleep happens during what is called the “rejuvenation hours”, between 11:00 pm and 3:00 am. this is when your growth hormones kick in and focus on cellular repair. Your face won’t reveal as many lines and your eyes won’t be as puffy.

Magnesium helps me sleep like a baby. I use topical MagneZZZium on my feet for instant sleep. I also take magnesium citrate to stay asleep. Make sure you have a dark and cool room. I cheat and wear an eye mask and have both a ceiling fan and a floor fan aimed right at my feet, one of which is out of the covers.

If you’re in a habit of waking up at 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning, try meditation or not drinking too much water in the evening.

3. Your Diet Can Make You Younger

Obesity can become a problem as you grow older because of a slower metabolism. Keep your weight on track, make your skin glow and your blood healthy by eating foods with beneficial properties.

Healthy fats, including cholesterol should also be present in your diet. Cholesterol is the mother hormone and we all know how important hormones are in helping us look and feel younger.

4. Exercise Regularly

Nothing benefits your overall health like having an exercise regime that you enjoy and perform on a regular basis. No matter what exercise you choose, getting your body moving can drop the years from your body and mind

Want shapely muscles and more energy? Don’t be afraid to lift weights and be stronger.

5. Use Makeup Sparingly

With makeup and aging, less is more. Use makeup to enhance your natural assets rather than attempting to cover up the flaws. Get a professional makeup artist to show you how to apply your makeup in the most flattering way for your face.

6. Choose the Proper Hairstyle

Are you still wearing the same style you had in the 70s? Or is your hair dull and gray? Do yourself a favor and visit a professional hairstylist and let her design a style that fits your face and coloring. Use a touchup compact to cover the grays in between colors.

Funny story. One of my friends chose to go gray and her young son commented, “Oh great, now you are going to die soon.” haha

7. Break Those Bad Habits

If you smoke or drink too much alcohol, cut down or quit if possible. Too much alcohol will dry out your skin and smoking will rapidly age your entire body. But if you choose to embibe, European wine or tequila are the healthiest of choices. Just skip the sugar.

In your quest to look and feel younger, don’t forget your “attitude.” Do what you can to keep yourself upbeat and positive – and for goodness sake, don’t forget to smile!
