ABOUT NAGINA

  • I am a health coach for women over 50, for professional women’s, and for women that are physician and executives
  • The way that I personally started is, I have been struggling my whole life to lose weight and just to feel good of my body
  • I have tried every single thing out there and I just felt that it was not meant to be for me to lose weight
  • I started to work in this very demanding job and I had 2 children, and I was at the heaviest weight of my life
  • When I was at that moment, I thought that I would feel low energy forever because I’ve felt like I did not want to do anything and I had a lot of pain
  • I decided that I need to try something different
  • I started using my scientific background, and I started reading the journals that I was subscribing to
  • I started learning that there are foods that could boost our metabolism and could melt our fat  faster
  • I started eating this food and adding these ingredients to my meals and it felt like magic
  • I lost 90 lbs. in 9 months
  • It’s now over 10 years, and I still continue to build muscles
  • Women that are in there 40’s, 50’s or 60’s that worked with me regularly feels like they are stuck, I give them the exact solution that I found for myself
  • Now, I coach almost a thousand women to lose 20-40 lbs. and more when they feel stuck and nothing else is working

THE MAGIC FOOD

  • All those weight loss programs that is out there are telling us to eat less and smaller portions of processed unhealthy foods
  • And it makes us crave more unhealthy foods, and it does not break the cycle of an unhealthy lifestyle
  • One of the things that I focus on is protein more
  • We really want to add more protein to what we are eating and most women are under-eating protein
  • Really focusing on having between 20-30 grams of protein on each meal is a critical way to boost metabolism
  • The other thing is to have a metabolism morning smoothie
  • Really adding protein is a key strategy
  • Another thing I want to share is a tasty vegetable
  • One of the key ways that you can do to boost your metabolism through you vegetable is, when you roast your vegetable, get a baking tray, spray with cooking spray, put any vegetables you want, and sprinkle some spices on it
  • Have some salt, black pepper, cumin, and cayenne pepper
  • Even something simple as black pepper, actually burns as many calories as a 20-minute walk
  • The other spice is also cumin. Cumin has shown over and over that it helps decrease belly fat
  • There have been multiple studies done that if women have multiple teaspoons a day will burn 30% more fat than women who don’t
  • Cayenne pepper is another spice that’s incredible
  • Cayenne boosts your metabolism and it curbs your appetite
  • This is why spices are so incredible because it is a binding receptor in your brain that will tell you that satiated, and so you don’t eat as much
  • For cayenne, you just need a pinch of it or you can use paprika because it is sweeter but has the same compound as cayenne called, capsaicin and it is the compound that boosts metabolism and curbing appetite
  • You may also use crushed pepper flakes since it has the same compound with cayenne
  • The protein powder that I found amazing is a vegan one called, optimum nutrition
  • It does not cause any bloating so having a vegan protein powder is the key

WHAT DOES YOUR DIET LOOKS LIKE

  • Usually, I used to be eating more fish
  • I have recently stopped eating meat and went vegetarian
  • I was eating more fish and I have been eating the same meals for 7 years because I love it so much because it also empowered me to what will I be eating which is a key part of losing weight
  • When you have a go-to meal that you like and that keep you full, you don’t have to think about it because you know it keeps you full and how much energy it gives you
  • When you eat different foods, you may have different reactions to those
  • I have a fat-burning food framework and it teaches you how to combine your foods so that you’ll get that metabolism-boosting every single meal, and you’ll feel full and satisfied
  • In the fat-burning food framework, you fill your plate with 40% protein, 40% vegetable, and 20% healthy carbs like beans, lentils, sweet potatoes, quinoa
  • I really recommend not counting as much because when we count we will feel that we are on a diet, and we’ll fall off the wagon
  • It’s more about looking at your plate, but if you want a guideline, having anywhere between .5 and 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight is ideal
  • As time goes on, really increasing it with extra grams of protein with Greek yogurt or smoothie and this is one thing that speeding up women’s metabolism
  • I actually have worked with so many vegetarians and we have specialized recommendation
  • Beans and lentils are an excellent source and make sure to use the spices I have recommended
  • Coriander is the seeds of cilantro – it’s the same thing
  • It does not taste the same as fresh, but you can sprinkle it on top of your asparagus is a food that lowers water retention and decreases bloating
  • When you have the two together, it is a magical food
  • One of the spice blends I recommend is the, Everything But The Bagel spice at Trader Joe’s
  • There is also a great chili lime called, Hot Stuff and you can buy it on Amazon
  • In general, tofu is one thing out of many to use if you are vegetarian
  • It should be a part of what you are eating and not your main source
  • Now I am a newly vegetarian, I usually add hemp seeds, nutritional yeast on top with my lentils or vegetable
  • I also do flaxseeds and chia seeds and finally having a chickpea flour to make pancakes with a hot sauce on a side
  • I used to eat eggs every single morning, and I’ll have a breakfast salad on the side
  • To boost your protein with eggs and you don’t have time on making omelets, you can just eat a boiled egg with a side of berries or breakfast salad
  • I have a recipe too called, a sweet spice which is a really easy way to get started with spices
  • In the morning, if you are having coffee or tea, just sprinkle a cinnamon
