I never thought I would have a sauna company
I started having muscle skeletal pain, fibromyalgia
So, I kind of went through a mainstream treatment and it was just getting worse and worse
I reached a low point when I was having difficulty walking, it was not that great
I was 35 years old at that time
It got me into a whole new journey as far as learning about lifestyle changes and detoxification. That’s how I got introduced into sauna
I just did not do sauna to get better, I changed my diet, my stage 4 sleep and I did a bunch of other things
But the sauna was most effective in lowering my pain
I realize that I am not the only one that would benefit from detoxification
And that’s when I started to introduce sauna to different clinics and practitioners
People that have some chronic health problem have difficulty going into the stage 4 sleep
That’s why it is so important to go into this deep restorative sleep
We produce 80% of our growth hormone in a stage 4 sleep. There are a few things that you can do to promote stage 4 sleep
What may work for one person may not work for the other person
You just have to be prepared if you have trouble with deep sleep
A lot of people with chronic pain issues, it is very important to have that restorative sleep
Many of us are so low in magnesium
When people have chronic health problem, they definitely are low in magnesium
It should be 2 parts magnesium and 1-part calcium
I went organic
I did not go vegetarian or vegan, but I went organic
I also went more alkaline
I tried to totally avoid sugar
I definitely went strict into my diet
Excitotoxins would be anything that is added in the food
Sometimes, it’s the food enhancers, aspartame, MSG
If you see package, and there’s a bunch of names in there that you don’t know, then don’t eat it.
When you are dealing with chronic health problems, don’t underestimate the strength of a healthy diet
I heard about infrared sauna and it is way easier
The conventional temperature is 180 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit
A good infrared sauna is usually 115 Fahrenheit to 150 the most
I was a biologist before I was a firefighter
Most studies are on animals, some studies are on people, but the animals being in infrared for 24 hours, it shows an increase of longevity and mobility
Pregnant women or women that are lactating should avoid infrared sauna.
I started selling a product
So, I thought what kind of things do I want to have with a sauna
I used to have a ceramic heater, and the problem with ceramic heaters are people complain about the hot spots and the cold spots
With the carbon fiber, it is much more evenly covered
So, when someone is in there, they can sweat profusely at a lower temperature
I was very chemical sensitive myself, when I was 6
The other issue to bring up is EMF – electro magnetic field
It is something that we are all exposed to – in our home or in work
In infrared sauna, you are very close to the heat
The feedback helped me build the sauna that we have today
You should test the sauna that you bought
As a consumer, you have to be careful because there is a lot of hype out there
I have had my company for 20 years
I was actually with the fire department at that time and I was doing it part time and I realized I could not do both
And so, I quit the fire department job and took an early retirement and I have been doing this for a long time now
I am always pleased to sell to practitioners
I originally was selling to people with toxin problems
What you have to be careful with is, if you have a client that is quite toxic, even if they are tempted, I strongly suggest that they don’t start with sauna
If you are toxic, you might start off by doing every 3 days. You might do that for 3 to 4 weeks
Just listen to your body
Most times, I go in 30 to 40 minutes every session
You have to make sure that you are replacing your electrolytes and water
If you are low in electrolytes and minerals, your sweating is minimized
