WHY YOU NEED TO FOOD TEST
My fear was I wouldn’t be able to eat all my favorite foods like cheese, egg, nuts…Well I couldn’t just not eat those, I also had to avoid beef, avocado, and all dairy products. However, this was only temporary. I needed to take 6 months to focus on healing my gut by eliminating these foods, taking probiotics and eating fermented veggies.
Research has shown that gut health is of the utmost importance. and since my goal is to age in health, I take this very seriously and intend to be diligent to stick to the plan. It’s a temporary sacrifice for a long term gain!
This has helped me get the number on the scale to finally move downward, cleared up my brain fog, joint pain, and gave me healthier bowel movements. Since I had such great results, I decided to work directly with the lab and offer my clients the same tests.
So I am using blood spot testing to see if you have a food sensitivity/intolerance! Through a simple finger prick, I am able to tell you exactly how you react to 208 of the most common foods. Delayed onset food reactions aka food sensitivities are a rapidly growing concern for many people.
FOOD TEST SCIENCE
An important thing to note, this is NOT a food allergy test. It is important that you understand the difference.
A true Food Allergy is looking at the IgE portion of your immune system. This is usually an IMMEDIATE reaction. In other words, a person may eat peanuts and break out in a rash right away. Or worse yet, a person may eat shrimp and their throat swells. In this instance, it may be a serious anaphylactic reaction. Again, this is NOT what we’re testing.
This blood test procedure is testing the IgG portions of your immune system. This is the DELAYED immune reaction. This can be a 10-12 hour…sometimes up to 72 hour delayed response. The time frame of a delayed reaction is simply too much to do any sort of elimination diet.
Food sensitivities are generally caused by an inability to digest a food and this occurs in the digestive tract and NOT the bloodstream, like an allergy. Oftentimes when we consume a certain food too frequently our bodies can develop an antigen against it. Hence rotating your foods frequently is important.
This test provides reliable results of your personal food sensitivities by measuring antibodies in the blood your immune system has produced in response to the foods you’re eating. It uses the ELISA method of testing for rapid, reproducible results.
It’s been estimated that up to 83% of health conditions are FOOD RELATED! This system provides an objective solution to many of these health challenges! When you eat the wrong foods (i.e. foods that your immune system reacts to), this spikes inflammation and can cause a downward spiral in your overall health.
