Weightlifting For Women

Today, we are going to talk about Weight Lifting for Women.

Why you need to do it? How to get started? What is it going to do for your figure?

Why you need to do it?
You are either going to age stronger or age weaker. Nothing stays static.

I would like to see you age stronger, because I just moved my parents to a senior facility and watching my mom the way she is keeping my commitment to healthy food and a healthy lifestyle. My genes – both my parents, have horrible genetics.

But you can change your genes by your practice.

Age stronger or Age weaker? What are you going to choose?

When I see people on my workout classes, I used to teach Zumba and spin and all these people who do chronic cardio, your body will adapt to it but your body does not change shape because biceps are made in the gym and abs are made in the gym.

If you want to find an easy way to get started, I recommend is do 2 days a week of full body workout.

No need to start off anything complicated. Train your body’s major group and these are your legs, glutes, chest, back, shoulders, arms and core.

You can start by just doing 3 sets per body part – 1 exercise for 3 times and do your weights.
One thing that I like to do, because I live in a busy land, I super set. Meaning, I’ll do one body part and the other body part.
Rest one muscle, while you train another.

What is it going to do with your body?

First of all, I always ask: What weighs more? A pound of muscle or a pound of fat?
Hopefully, you answered they both weigh the same.

The best thing is, the muscle takes up less space on your clothes.

You can take two women. They are exactly the same height and weight.

One of the is an athlete and spends time in the gym and is very lean and the other one just do chronic cardio.
So, there body appearance is completely different.
One of the might be a size 6 and one of the might be size 8.

Another reason why you want to do this is because it is going to boost your metabolism.
Your metabolism are your calories that you burn at rest. The more muscle mass you have in your body, the more you can eat without gaining fat. How cool is that? So, we want to have a lot of muscle on our body.

What’s even more cool is that, in the Ketogenic diet, we call that Muscle Sparing.
That means, your body is not burning muscle for fuel because it likes to get fat and ketones instead.

If you are a carb or glucose burner, and you don’t have enough carbs in your body because you are cutting your calories, your body will convert your muscle into glucose and we don’t want that.
