Today, I am going to teach you some ways to baby step your way into a wonderful fasting lifestyle.
The first way that you want to do it is: To extend your breakfast.
Meaning if you normally breakfast at 8:00 AM, try to stretch it to 10:00 AM or 11:00 AM. Stretch out your breakfast, do not break your fast until about lunch. You can do what’s called a 16-8, meaning that you do not eat food for 16 hours and you only enjoy it for eight hours. If your eating window is from 11:00 AM. until 8:00 PM, that is the eight-hour window. So you fast from dinner on one day until 11:00 AM on the next day and try to make sure that you can fast for 16 hours.
Way number 2 is: Doing an 18-6 which is basically your shortening your eating window again to just 6 hours and so. What your eating window would look like is, say from noon to 6:00 PM or from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM and you shorten your eating window a little bit more.
Way number 3: is something we call OMAD – one meal a day.
Where your eating window is just one hour. Say, you like to have dinner and so, you just fast all day long and you just enjoy a wonderful dinner.
Way number 4: is a 24 hour prolonged fast.
You go one whole day with no food. It’s actually more than 24 hours. So you’re fasting approximately 36 hours and you do that like twice a week so it’s called a 5/2 where you eat for 5 days. you fast for 2 days.
Now my big word wisdom here is do not do it on leg day. Do it more on a cardio day but a 5/2 where you fast for to complete days and you eat healthy ketogenic meals.
Way number 5: Three days fast and this is where you achieve optimal health benefits, human growth hormone, stem cells, and all this awesome magic happens in three days.
Just pick three days and you can go from say dinner on Tuesday to dinner on Friday so Wednesday and Thursday are actually the only days that you have no food and then you can actually enjoy a wonderful meal on Friday but just break your fast safely.
Always break it with some bone broth or something really light or you might be running to the bathroom.
The longest I’ve ever gone is three and a half days but you can do a five-day fast. I’ve never gone that long but they people are safely doing it so you can do a five-day.
You want to make sure you’re getting your electrolytes – your sodium, magnesium, and potassium.
And you always want to make sure that you’re hydrating along the way and I’m telling you, your body can do this it’s your mind you have to convince.
I still worked out just as hard as I always do during my extended fasting and I love it. it is so so good for anti-aging properties and it will have your digestion system rest so that your body can do all these other things instead of wasting your energy.
You have the energy to have your body perform other cellular functions that are going to help you age stronger and healthier instead of weaker and sicker.
