Do you want to learn how to make sauerkraut?
The real, fermented kind?
Making your own will save you a ton of money. The box on the left cost me $5.99, the jars on the left, about $4.00.
Step 1:
Thinly slice one head of cabbage.
Step 2:
Add 2 T Sea Salt and massage for 10 minutes or until covered in juices.
Step 3:
Pack tightly in a jar. Liquid should cover cabbage. Add extra water if needed. Pack down with a smaller jar and cover with paper towel. Secure towel with a rubber band and place in pantry for 2 weeks.
After 2 weeks, take a taste and see if it satisfies your pallet. It may take a longer time to ferment in the winter, due to cooler temperatures.
