As the official Salad Queen, I love different textures on my daily lunch bowl. So when I went to the store and saw this seed sprouter, I was super excited to grow sprouts on my own, since I don’t trust the store bought kind, after that crazy scare years back! Sprouts are SUPER healthy: high in protein, vitamins, enzymes, fiber, EFA’s and more!
Imagine the possibilities…..I can sprout just about anything and nosh on it for lunch! The only sketchy thing, is the instructions said to soak the seeds with bleach and then rinse well. hmmmmmm!
My first purchase was mung beans, lentils, and salad sprout mix. Here is what they looked like at the beginning of the project. Just little tiny seeds.
You water them twice a day, and then in just 5 days they grow into a massive tray of yummy goodness.
Last night I had a huge salad and it was primarily sprouts, with a bit of mixed greens, avocado, and walnuts. Topped with smoked salmon, makes for a complete meal packed with vitamins, minerals and protein!!!
