Cholesterol Numbers – The Most Important Cholesterol Readings

How many time have you gone to the doctor only to be told that your cholesterol is too high and you need to get it medication and they have given you the big scare tactics.

Well, let me tell you a secret…

Cholesterol is your friend.

Do not be afraid of cholesterol because our bodies need it for a big reason.

The big one is, hormone production.

As we age, our hormones start going down, but cholesterol is the mother of all hormone and we need it because from cholesterol come pregnenolone and from pregnenolone comes our sex hormones like, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA

What happened back in the day when we were told to stop eating egg whites? And to ditch the saturated fat?

Well, let me tell you what happened…

Our country got fat and sick.

Our waistline got expanded especially if you are in the hot years because we all know that’s where energy is store, aka insulin

Cholesterol is important.

If you are not eating it, your body is going to make it for you.

Take a look at this graph:

Dave Feldman ate a different amount of cholesterol and every day, he took his blood so that he can measure his cholesterol.

You will see here when you flip the graph, that there is an inverse relationship to the amount of cholesterol your body eats and the amount of cholesterol in your blood.

You know why?
Because your body needs it.

If you are not going to make it, your body will make it for you.

When your doctor scares you with your cholesterol, he’s probably looking at your total cholesterol number or LDL (low density lipoprotein)

LDL has 2 differed kinds:

The large fluffy good LDL and your small dense bad LDL

How about your HDL – your good cholesterol?

Did your doctor talked to you about that? If your number is high or not?

I had a client the other day freaking out because her cholesterol was really high and her doctor wants to put her on medication.

Her total cholesterol was about 230-ish and her HDL was 80-ish which is good and off the chart.

So, I asked her what’s her triglyceride and here is the secret formula.

They say, your HDL to triglyceride ratio should be 2 to 1.

Meaning, if your triglyceride is 150, then you want your HDL to be 75.

Well, this client of mine, her HDL were 80 and triglyceride is down about 60.
And that is fantastic!

Why do they scare us about cholesterol anyways?
It’s because they don’t want us to have a heart attack.

Studies have shown that most people who die from heart disease has normal cholesterol levels.
What is the deal there?

My doctor looked at my blood cholesterol and my HDL are super high; my triglyceride is super low and he told me I was doing great.

I was looking on the National Institute of Health and this is what I have found…
“Cholesterol is a major component of all cell membrane and is use to make essential molecule such as, hormones, fat soluble vitamins, and bio acids to help you digest your food.”

It is not what we eat that matters, it’s what we digest and assimilate that matters.

You can eat all day long, but if your body is not absorbing those nutrients then, what is the point?

Don’t be afraid of cholesterol.

Eat your egg yolks, do not just eat egg whites, eat you grass-fed saturated fat beef, all those yummy goodies and don’t be afraid with coconut oil.
