ABOUT AIMEE
By training, I am an acupuncturist and a practitioner of Chinese medicine
I have been in clinical practice for 15 years mainly in the New York regions
I have also written 3 books. My first book came out in 2009 and all the books are for women and how to optimize their health
I wrote a book, “Yes, You Can Get Pregnant” which is about optimizing health and fertility and my most recent book is called, “Body Belief”
Before I became an acupuncturist, I was a research scientist – I was a neuroscience researcher
Now, in my currently life, I love to mash both worlds, but I am really fascinated about how our beliefs impact our health and our ability to thrive
This isn’t just a theory. There’s a lot of scientific data that supports this and I get into that
As I evolved as a practitioner and as a human, I started to really see that when we work on our energy and the beliefs from which we live our lives, that’s when we can will have the most lasting changes
If 90% of our thoughts are the same everyday, then what we need to figure out is what are those thoughts? What are we believing about our everyday interactions, from the food we eat to what we think about our body, to what we say when we look at ourselves in the mirror, to our relationships, to our money, to every aspect in our life. And we need to see where those beliefs are actually manifesting into physicality
The best thing about beliefs is that, they are tangible and I always encourage people to ask themselves, “how can I say this better?” I got this from Abraham
It is not about going from black to white. It is about how can you say it better like, “If I support my body and nourish myself on every level, then it should come to equilibrium” or “I love my body the way that it is” and you start to soften this conversation. Then soften the beliefs which will shift the trajectory of your life and your health
You have to first identify it. I call it, The Art of Shifting Your Beliefs
The acronym is ART, A is for acknowledge, R is for renew or reform and T is for transform
The first is, you have to acknowledge. You have to spend time reconnecting with yourself
And I believe that until we do this part, we can only achieve a small amount of what we want
A good exercise to reconnect is looking at yourself in the mirror and what are some of the things you hear yourself say to yourself? Those will reveal your beliefs to you
You have to sit with those acknowledgements first and from there, I recommend writing them down to really identify these beliefs
In the renewal or reform space, sit with these beliefs and all you do is say, “how could I say this better?”
This way is like looking at yourself with curiosity, compassion or understanding versus, this rigid and critical thoughts/beliefs
Then, you will just start to live in there and start to see things transform on their own
The transformation happens on its own as you start to hear the beliefs
I feel like in today’s society, we are so easy to judge ourselves especially in the world of social media
The grass always looks greener, we are never doing it as good as someone else on Instagram and it is easy to be harder on ourselves
Comparison is the root of all suffering
In that awareness, my hope is that we just learn how to love ourselves
I have worked with a thousand people at this point and behind closed doors, they really share their deep dark secrets, both physical and emotional
And most everyone I come across is their own worse critic and we could all use a little more self-love, self-compassion and self-friendliness and when we do that, we just kind of soften. We start to understand that maybe we are not exactly where we want to be, but that we are exactly where we are supposed to be
Even for us who has been on a spiritual path longer than others, it is always going to be being loving and kind to ourselves
You need the hiccups in your life to get clearer on what it is that you want, and it is not to say that you deserve problems or trauma or bad experiences, but more like looking at those events as learning opportunities
Sometimes, I will go to the “F it” mode and I’ll beat myself up later
Now, it’s witnessing when I get that urge and I will ask myself, “how does this support you?”
Another thing I will do a lot is in my meditation or after, I ask myself “how can I better support you? How can I better nourish you?” and I really listen to that answer
Life has its challengers and sh*t happens
It is not about avoiding that, it is about how do you roll with that and how do you respond versus, react
Part of the whole fertility thing that I do in helping women improve their fertility, is not really helping them get pregnant, it is about making the world a better place because so much of what I do is teach women to reconnect
So, if we can soften the way we respond to ourselves and our interactions in the world, we just start to be a little kinder and a little bit more compassionate. I do feel that, that’s the root of it
When I am in the clinic treating clients, I am practicing Qi Gong in the means of the energy I am transmitting to them and the energy I am taking from them and transmitting back to the Earth
You have the power to change your life
Instead of disliking where we are or resisting it so much, the second you accept it and just own it, the easier it’s going to get
You let go of that resistance and good things will begin to follow
Everybody’s going to go through their own life the way they need to, but when you have this level of acceptance and you’ll just laugh at yourself
It’s not about perfection, it is about accepting and being easy on yourself
There was a study on diabetes, where they gave half of the participants a pill to regulate their blood sugar and the other half a placebo. They did blood work before and after
Everyone of them, had their blood sugar come down
So, all the people that took the placebo pill had lower blood sugar and it’s fascinating
I talk about placebo effect and nocebo effect quite a bit in body beliefs and the research is mind blowing
The more care you get from your practitioner, the more impact placebo is because it becomes more an emotional relationship since you will feel supported
Women in support groups get pregnant twice as fast as women who are not
The power of the mind is something you can’t argue with
It is really listening and reconnecting in body beliefs. In that reconnection, it is the acknowledgement and getting on the same page of your body and mind figuring out how they can work together instead of battling each other all day long

HOW DO YOU HELP WOMEN GET PREGNANT VIA NUTRITION
Generally speaking, I believe food is our first approach
From a traditional Chinese medicine perspective, which is my training, we are meant to eat food as close to its natural state as possible and cooked food more than raw. Also eat animal protein
I tend to recommend diets with a lot of vegetables, a good amount of healthy fats and a few ounces of protein – keep it really simple
Avoid any processed food. If it sits on your counter and it does not go bad, you should not consume it

Eating raw is harder for your body to digest. It takes longer to break it down
Your greens should be slightly wilted or if you are eating a salad, it should have a cooked protein in it or the dressing should have ginger, garlic or clove to heat it up
Too much cold raw, can make the uterus cold
The uterus really craves warmth, which will improve fertility
